The opening day on Tuesday 25th will see Xposé presenter Glenda Gilson joined by Social and Personal Editor, PJ Gibbons and horse trainer Andy McNamara’s wife Rhona take to the enclosures to seek out the most stylish ladies in attendance.
On Wednesday 26th, day two of the festival, Aisling O’Loughlin owner of Exquisite.ie, Naomi Clarke (aka The Style Fairy), Linda Stinson of Bellamianta Tan and Hannah Power wife of Gold Cup and Grand National winning jockey Robert ‘Puppy’ Power will be judging.
The Style Fairy, Naomi Clarke gave ladies some insight into what she’s looking for saying “I’ll be looking out for ladies who look comfortable, confident and happy in their look. As well as that it’s so important to show off your own personal flair and style, while still being race appropriate. I can’t wait to see all the fabulous ladies and all the style on the day.”
RTÉ’s Bláthnaid Treacy will lead the panel on Thursday 27th with fashion blogger Serena Stack of Unrivalled Chic, Milliner Derek Montgomery and Paula Geraghty wife of top jockey Barry Geraghty. Ironically, Paula will be the only Geraghty taking part at Punchestown as husband Barry, unfortunately sustained a broken arm while riding for JP McManus in the Irish Grand National at the weekend which has unfortunately ruled him out for next week’s festival.
When speaking of the upcoming event, Derek Montgomery commented “For me, it’s one of the style highlights of the year! As a judge, I’ll be looking for an outfit that has an effortless yet stand out style and of course, as a Milliner, the pièce de résistance will be their headpiece and how it compliments their outfit”.
While blogger Serena Stack added “I’m thrilled to be involved with the judging of this year’s Bollinger Best Dressed Lady Competition at the Punchestown Festival. The prizes on offer are phenomenal! Fashion at the races is always a focal point, especially at Punchestown, so I know judging is not going to be an easy task but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
The grand final on Friday 28th will be judged by the gorgeous Vogue Williams, Heather de Bromhead the super stylish wife of horse trainer Henry de Bromhead, Irish Independent Fashion Editor, Bairbre Power and Bollinger’s very own Bastien Mariani.
The 2017 Bollinger Best Dressed Lady at Punchestown will receive a VIP trip for two taking in the Bollinger Estate, Reims and Paris complete with private chauffeur, Michelin-starred dining and luxury accommodation, not to mention a year’s supply of Bollinger to top it all off! Not to be forgotten the finalists on each day will each receive a luxury goodie bag filled with luxurious treats including Topflight vouchers, race day tickets, Bellamianta Tan and much more! Registration is not required for the competition as fashion scouts and judges search the enclosures to seek out the most stylish ladies each day. It’s important to note that gates open at 12 noon each day and scouting will commence early. Festival organisers are encouraging ladies to be on site from 1pm if they are interested in the Bollinger Best Dressed Lady Competition.
